Ethridge
John L. Ethridge was born at Fayette, Wis., August 11, 1839, and spent practically all of his life in Lafayette county. In April 1861, he enlisted in Co. H, 3d Wis. Infantry and served throughout the entire war. On Sept. 12, 1869 he was married to Sarah M. Burwell to whom nine children were born, four of whom are still living.
They are Jasper, of Argyle, Fred, of Monroe, Mrs. Phillip Corbin, of the town of Argyle, and Mrs. Mae E. Culp, of Madison. His wife also survives him. He departed this life, Sept. 2, 1911, aged 72 years, after an illness of one week.
