James E. Stevens, 68, left this world peacefully on December 27, surrounded by those he loved. Jim is survived by his wife Buffy, son Brad and his wife Susan and their children John and Bryn and son Chris and his wife Michelle and their children Brenna, Olivia and Camden. Jim is also survived by his two brothers Jack (Susan) and Paul (Diane) and sister and brother-in-law Pat and Bob Gavigan and their families. He also leaves his constant companion and beloved dog Molly and an extended “family “of dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents H. Gene Stevens and Delores Handley and sister-in-law Karie Stevens.
Jim fought bravely along side his extraordinary team of U.W. oncologists and therapists in hopes of conquering his cancer – never complaining and always praising his caregivers. His Hospice team made the last days of his journey peaceful and comfortable. Jim’s sense of humor, tender heart, never-ending love and wonderful smile continued to be a gift to all until the end. The family thanks all those who have given so much in caring for Jim.
