John Calvin Butler was a Confederate War Veteran. The headstone just has initials J.C. Butler. He married Lucinda Strickland in Georgia. His Father was Joshua Butler. Joshua was born in North Carolina and relocated to Campbell County, Ga. where John Calvin Butler was born. John Calvin and Lucinda were the parents of Joseph Calvin Butler. As you can see by the headstone, John was also a member of the Freemasons.
